Google keyword planner: It is one of the tools of google ads and also called the Google keyword tool which shows new keywords for the PPC campaign.
It is a tool that shows relevant keywords, search volume and bidding estimation by searching for the word related to your product or service.
In order to use keyword planner you need to have Google ads account.
After creating an account enter few details about your business.
Next Click on the wrench icon from the toolbar at the top of the page then choose keyword planner (just set up a campaign to use keyword planner no need to activate it).
Previously, the old version of the Keyword planner would give you a few options like:
But now the update has changed things.
There are two new options in keyword planner after the update, they are Discover New Keywords and Get search volume and forecasts.
Discover New Keyword:
To find the new keywords for your business use Discover New keywords option.
Later enter business keyword term or website URL in the field “Start with the keyword” or new option “Start with a website”(this option is the check competitors keywords.
Get search volume and forecasts:
You can validate keywords (paste list of keywords in the search field) before including them in your campaigns, this option is only to check search volume, it cannot generate new keywords.
Here on this page, you can see many options like Avg monthly searches, Competition, Top of page bid (low),” “Top of page bid (high),” as well as “Account status.
You can also see a few more options like Locations, Language, Search networks and Date range you can change according to your opinion.
By looking at the search volume, low bidding and high bidding for the keyword you can choose the keyword and bidding range (within your daily budget).
Account status which shows whether you have included the keyword in your pervious campaign or not.
With the updated feature you can include or exclude specific keywords and filter on bidding, competition, search volume, and sort the keywords and bidding within your budget.
After selecting the keyword for the campaign make sure you double-check them with other keyword tools like SEMrush.
This will show you how the term performed over time for each device, gives you ideas of where to spend money for a specific keyword.
If your competitor is showing on top with another keyword which you are not bidding then you could lose tons of sales. Thankfully, you can research keyword ideas for any URL in the keyword planner.
Simply type a competitor’s URL within the search bar.
You can download or copy the competitor’s keywords for the next step.
